WE GOT A FACELIFT
You may have noticed we gave ourselves a new look recently. Here’s a few words on why.
When Coke Lane Pizza began it was a weekend pop up in Smithfield and everything about it was DIY. I had never owned a food business before. I had never worked in a commercial kitchen before. I started the whole venture with savings €8000 and €4600 of that went on an old post van I needed for transport. The setup was functional and there was a lot of hustle to keep it going. This meant I was NOT shelling out thousands on a whole brand identity from day one. Who could afford that!? In fairness, it showed. The look was somewhere between an eight year old’s lemonade stand and a back country meth lab. I literally opened without a sign and with a menu designed on Microsoft Word. Shockingly bad stuff, but my sole focus was making epic pizza. It was the dough I lost sleep on, not the menu design.
We’ve come a long way…
Scrambling to make the place look decent after a few weekends, I lashed together a logo based on some spray painted ply boards we were using as the front wall to our stall. Real scrappy stuff. Scrappy worked back in those days, though. It matched our energy.
Over the years we’ve grown, however, and we now have a stronger sense of who we are and what we stand for….. and that ugly ass logo had to go. For our new logo we wanted a simpler look. Something that conveyed how seriously we take our pizza, and that we don’t take ourselves too seriously in the process.
So what’s with the crocodile? Well, he’s a quirky little fella, but I think it’s a fair reflection of how we have grown and the confidence we now feel as a pizza crew. We’re calm on the surface and deadly serious underneath. We’re resilient, and quietly powerful. We know what we’re doing now.
It’s a bold new look and one we hope will last a long time (we’re never rebranding again!). If you like the look and want to support us, we do have some kick ass merch you can buy from our stores or online, designed by the very talented designer who designed our new look, Sarah Moloney.
Lastly, as we grow our business we haven’t lost focus on what has gotten us here. We are still focused on the two most important aspects of the business; making the best pizza we can and sharing special moments with friends. Thanks for supporting us and we look forward to feeding you in 2026.
